GUWAHATI: The second Northeast India festival will be held from February 21 to February 23 in Bangkok to promote trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries while business to business meets to seminars will be held at Centara Grand hotel in Bangkok.
Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand,Jurin Laksanawisit is expected to grace the inaugural session along with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb among others.
Senior Ministers of various Northeast states, as well as known industrialists are likely to be present.
The festival will showcase the best of Northeast Tourism and trade potential with special focus on cane and bamboo and Agro Horti products.
Exhibition and cultural performances from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura and Nagaland will also be showcased at the festival.
Interaction will also take place among scholars, historians, academicians, students of Northeast and scholars of Thailand. The meet will explore conversations among scholars of Tai Ahom, Tai Phake and Tai Singpho communities of Northeast who have strong Tai historic linkage.
Famous Indian singers and bands as well as Tai Rock Bands will perform at the festival.
