GUWAHATI, Oct 21: A Saudi couple named Hassan Abu Al-Ola and Yasmine Daftardar took their wedding vows in an under-water ‘marriage ceremony’ in the Red Sea off the Jeddah coast.

The wedding was the first of its kind in the Saudi kingdom and was attended by a small group of fellow divers and organised by the local diving group, Saudi Divers, the Gulf News reported.
Fellow divers cheered and greeted the couple, creating a one-of-its-kind memorable scene for the couple beneath the waves.

“Alhamdulillah, there were no challenges,” Hassan Abu Ola, the groom, said in an interview. “The celebration went smoothly, and everyone was amazed by how unconventional and spectacular it was.”

The couple hopes that sharing their underwater wedding will inspire others to explore the diving wonders of Saudi Arabia.

“This is just one way we can contribute to realizing the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prince of Youth and the visionary leader of our great country,” he added.
