Ripun Bora violates social distancing norms in Darrang

Guwahati: Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and Rajya Sabha MP Ripun Bora flouted social distancing norms in Darrang district of Assam on Friday.

Bora who took part in a party programme to visit the flood-hit areas travelled with more than 200 people in a single machine boat. He was also seen without wearing a mask.

Most of his co-passengers did not wear masks and maintained no social distancing.

Bora travelled with a large number of people without paying heed to maintain minimum precautions against COVID-19.
The incident has raised concern in Darrang district.

Earlier, another top Congress leader Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi also took part in a janaja where thousands of people gathered violating social distancing norms.
