GUWAHATI, Dec 27: It seems there’s a ray of hope, at last! Amid the notice issued on behalf of the liquidators of Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPCL) asking employees of Nagaon and Cachar paper mills to vacate their quarters, Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today hinted that some good news will come their way in a day or two.
The Assam Finance Minister said this while speaking at the peace and progress rally organized by the BJP at Jagiroad today.
“We are with the people and will try to solve their problems. We will try to give paper mill employees some good news by tomorrow or the day after,” Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.
The development comes after employees of the two paper mills and their familes were told to vacate their quarters by Jan 31 next year following the notice issued on behalf of the liquidators of HPCL.
