GUWAHATI: Assam state BJP has prepared a list of probable candidates for Rajya Sabha elections to be held on March 26. The list has been sent to New Delhi for the approval from the central leadership, said state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass today.
Naming the probable candidates Dass said, “We have sent the list to Delhi today. The names of former Rajya Sabha MP Bhubaneswar Kalita, former union minister Rajen Gohain, ex-MP Ramen Deka, Barpeta district BJP president Sankar Chandra Das and our spokesperson Subhas Dutta have been included in the list.”
On the other hand, chief minister Sarbanada Sonowal told media persons that discussions for the third seat of Rajya Sabha are going on with the central leadership of the party.
