Ramadan 2021: Timings, Sehri, Iftaar; All you need to know

GUWAHATI: Ramadan or Ramzan is recognized as the holy month when Muslims worldwide observe fasting from dawn to dusk. This year Ramadan is expected to begin from the evening of Monday, April 14 and will conclude on Tuesday, May 13.

Ramadan 2021: Date

The date of Ramadan may also vary from country to country depending on whether the moon has been sighted or not. As per Madrassatul Banat, this year Ramadan is expected to begin from the evening of Wednesday, April 14 and will conclude on Thursday, May 13.

After the Holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, Eid al-Fitr takes place. This year, the festival is expected to fall on Friday, May 14, 2021.

 

Ramadan 2021: Time of fasting

Sawm begins a few hours after the sighting of the moon at sunrise and continues until sunset. Devotees pray five times a day and do not eat or drink during the day. They refrain from sinful acts, that may negate the reward of fasting.
