Rajnath Singh briefs PM Modi on Gen Bipin Rawat’s chopper crash

Guwahati: Defence minister Rajnath Singh has briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Indian Air Force chopper crash.

He provided complete details of available information about the accident. His brief included details of the crash and response measures taken. Sources from the defence minister’s office said Rajnath Singh is monitoring the situation.

A meeting of senior Ministry of Defence officials is on.

He also briefed the Union Cabinet on the incident. He is slated to address the Parliament on the incident later on Wednesday.

An Indian Air Force helicopter with Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on board crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday. Eleven people have been confirmed dead in the incident.

There is no immediate information on the condition of General Rawat yet.
