GUWAHATI: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Government Railway Police(GRP) at the Guwahati Railway Station on Monday morning arrested three women and seized at least 8 kg Ganja from their possession.
The three women identified as Sunita Devi, Ripta Devi and Kiran Devi were carrying the contraband in their luggage bags. After questioning they revealed that they were taking the Ganja to Bihar from Agartala.
“As per information, we launched an operation and we were searching for the suspects. We found them, checked their baggage and found the ganja in their bag.
The three women are Sunita Devi, Ripta Devi, and Kiran Devi. They brought the Ganja from Agartala and were taking it to Bihar. The market price of the seized contraband is around 1 lakh rupees,” said the Police Officer.
