GUWAHATI: Sensational details emerged about disproportionate assets of Assam’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Abhijit Rabha after Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption raided his office and residences for two days.

Anti-corruption sleuths recovered many documents pertaining to insurance and fixed deposit of the forest officer from his residences in Guwahati and Diphu.

According to Vigilance and Anti-Corruption sources, there was an unusual deposit of cash in several bank accounts of Abhijit Rabha during demonetisation.

It has come to light that a total of Rs. 91 lakh was deposited to his HDFC bank account at Diphu within six years.

During his tenure at Diphu as Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests from 2011 to 2016, Rabha earned a huge sum of money amounting to Rs. 4.12 crore. However he has failed to provide any valid proof of his earnings.
