PV Sindhu loses to Tai Tzu-ying in women’s singles semi-final

Guwahati: Indian badminton player PV Sindhu lost in straight sets to current World No.1, Tai Tzu-Ying of Chinese Taipei in the women’s singles badminton semi-final at the Tokyo Olympics. PV Sindhu lost 18-21, 12-21. She will face He Bing Jiao for the bronze medal tomorrow.

The 26-year-old Indian had won the silver in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Earlier, Sindhu defeated Japanese Akane Yamaguchi in straight games to book her place in the semi-finals of the women’s individual event.
