Public meeting seeks lockdown in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: With the fear of COVID-19 social transmission, the residents of Guwahati have been demanding re-imposition of lockdown in the city. Pandu Nagarik Samaj on Monday held a public meeting to discuss the necessity of lockdown to contain COVID-19 pandemic.

“We need lockdown in the entire Pandu and Maligaon areas. The social transmission of COVID-19 should be prevented,” said a local man.

The local people of Pandu have decided to request State Government and District Administration to impose lockdown.

“Many residents of Pandu area work at fancy Bazaar. The condition of Fancy Bazaar is worsening. So we need complete lockdown,” said another man.
