Nalbari: In what the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) calls a case of ‘Love Jihad’, a youth by the name of Mainul Ali (19) has been arrested by the Nalbari Police for cheating and kidnapping a minor Hindu girl. Mainul Ali took the Sarma surname to be-friend the girl.
According to a press release by VHP, on 20th November the youth Mainul Ali tricked the minor girl and forcibly took her away to Dhubri. Later on 22nd November, based on the FIR of the girl’s family and VHP’s pressure the Nalbari Police recovered both of them from Poilar, Nalbari. The accused was then produced in the court for further proceedings. The minor girl was handed over to her family and the accused Mainul Ali was sent to Jail.
The girl narrated the whole incident of how she was lured and kidnapped by the accused. There are also allegations by the girl that she was forced to change her religion.
Mainul Ali is a resident of Poilar, Nalbari and as per reports had met the 15-year-old girl recently.
