People contribute in large numbers to Assam CM Relief Fund

GUWAHATI: After Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma requested the general public to join the fight against COVID19 by contributing for vaccination, people have come forward in large numbers and have started donating towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Himanta Biswa Sarma himself donated Rs. 3 lakh as a personal contribution towards procurement of COVID19 vaccine. CM Sarma has urged the people to strengthen the campaign against the pandemic turning it into a Jan Andolan (people’s movement).

Apart from individuals, ministers, MLAs and BJP workers, the general public on their own have contributed to the Assam CMRF. The twitter handle of CM office has lauded the contributors for the kind gesture. Almost all the cabinet ministers of Assam have contributed to the CMRF.

Various organisations, institutions, associations, small businesses, entrepreneurs from the state have met CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and handed over their cheques towards the CMRF.

 

Assam has so far already given vaccines to 37 lakh people, without any discrimination.
