GUWAHATI: The American tourist, who tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhutan, had come into contact with more than 400 people during his stay in Assam.
“State Health Dept has traced more than 400 contacts in different places including MV Mahabahu and resorts where he stayed. Teams of doctors and microbiologists have been keeping a close watch on these people who have been quarantined,” Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

Meanwhile, all the people who were traced to be in contact with the US tourist have been tested and reported to be negative for the virus.
Another tweet of Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the partner of the American tourist also showed negative reports in the tests.

The minister also appealed to all not to panic and maintain personal hygiene.
