ONGC Assam Asset as part of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav has organiseda free medical camp at 945 No Rangapothar LP School in Sofrai on Saturday.
Mr M Ganeshan CGM-Head HR, inaugurating the medical camp underscored that ONGC is abundantly committed to the welfare of the stakeholders in the operational areas. Improving the health index of the people is one of the principal objectives of its CSR programmes, he reiterated.
Over six hundred local people availed medical services in this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative held till late in the evening. On the occasion, hundred (100 ) near vision spectacles and Forty (40) walking sticks for the elderly people were given. The team comprising ONGC doctors and staff conducted free blood sugar, blood pressure tests and provided medicines to the patients.
In view of the rising numbers of the Dengue cases in parts of the state, the doctors at the camp delivered a talk on the preventive measures, symptoms of the Dengue. Informative banners were also displayed at the venue of the camp.
Earlier on 29th October, similar free medical camp was also organized by ONGC at Mazdoor Club, Athkhel in association with Geleky branch of ATTSA. Besides free medical tests, walking sticks, spectacles and medicines were also distributed in the camp. The camp was attended by nearly 800 patients. The Medical Services of the company has flawlessly coordinated the camps.
In the recent past, ONGC supplemented medical logistics in Assam by adding nine Advanced Lifesupport Ambulances to the nine medical colleges in the state at a project cost of Rs 4.38 Crore. These Ambulances were flagged off by Hon’ble CM DrHimantaBiswaSarma, and Hon’bleMoS, MoPNG and Labour and Employment Shri RameswarTeli.
The ONGC supported multi-speciality 300-bed hospital in Sivasagar being built at a project cost of Rs 483 Crore is in the final stages of completion. Since the inauguration of its first phase in March, 2019, it has treated about 64000 OPD patients.
