Once in power we will hold meetings 100 times at Kalakshetra says Badruddin Ajmal

Guwahati: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal said that he will organise party meetings 100 times at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra.

Speaking to the media Ajmal said, “Yes, 100 times we will do. If our party comes into power we will definitely organize party meetings at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra. If we have a Mahagathbandhan chief minister, he will hold meetings at the same hall where the present CM does. Yesterday CM Sonowal, too, organised meeting at Kalakshetra”.

On the other hand, there is a general outcry against Ajmal’s remarks. People of Assam have clarified that Ajmal has no right to Assamese language and culture and he has no authority over Jagatguru Sankardeva.

Congress MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed was the first to propose setting up of a Miya museum at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra. The Congress MLA had made a controversial proposal to keep Neela Lungi, Kalpatiya Saari in Sankardeva Kalakshetra.

And now, AIUDF chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal is targeting Sankardeva Kalakshetra.

Incidentally, a BJP party meeting was ongoing at Kalakshetra in parallel to AIUDF’s meeting at Shilpagram. The BJP meeting was attended by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state president Ranjeet Kumar Das.
