Guwahati: The Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on January 20 released the list of the 276 films that are nominated for the 94 th Academy Awards. ‘
Jai Bhim’ has officially entered the list for the best picture for the Oscar this year.
Apart from ‘Jai Bhim’, Mohanlal’s ‘Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham’ has also been nominated to the academy awards list.

Reportedly, the voting for the nominated movies for the 94 th Oscar Awards will begin on January 27 and will end on February 1. According to reports, the final list for the academy awards will be out on February 8, 2022.
Just a couple of days back, ‘Jai Bhim’ was featured on the Oscar’s YouTube Channel. The movie was released in November 2021 and featured Suriya, Lijomol Jose, and Manikandan. The film was directed by TJ Gnanavel. The movie was released on OTT and was critically acclaimed and was well received by the audience. Earlier, the movie was also nominated for the Golden Globes Award for the Best Non-English Language Film.
The movie is about Sengani, a pregnant wife of a man who belongs to the Irular tribes who goes missing while under police custody. Raja Kannu gets arrested by the police for a crime that he did not commit, After being tortured in the police station he ends up his life. Sengani with the help of a lawyer – Chandru, fights injustice against the tribal people to get them their basic living rights.
