The process of correction of names and other particulars with respect to the NRC update process began from today (Jan 2) and will continue till Jan 31.
The State NRC office stated that the process of correction of names and other particulars will begin at 10 am on Jan 2 and that people can get the corrections applying online at NRC Seva Kendras as well as by visiting the NRC website.
“This facility can be availed by visiting NRC Assam’s website www.nrcassam.nic.in. Facility for name correction will also be available by submission of correction forms at NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs). These facilities will be available till 31/1/19,” the notice stated.

These processes have no connection with submission of Claims and Objections which will be over on 31/12/18.[Part 3/3]

Reports say around 31 lakh out of the 40 lakh people left out from the draft NRC filed claims for inclusion of their names at the time the deadline ended while an estimated 2.65 lakh objections have been filed.
