Northeast Covid Updates: Assam witnesses a marginal dip, Cases spike in Meghalaya, Tripura and Manipur

Guwahati: Assam’s COVID trajectory witnessed a slight dip with a total of 1,028 fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours. Of these, 254 cases have been detected in the Kamrup Metropolitan district. With this, Assam’s active caseload stands at 15,178. Thus, the COVID positivity rate is 3.08 percent.

Meanwhile, a total of 18 COVID-related deaths were reported in the state yesterday. On the other hand, 5,293 patients were discharged after attaining full recovery. As a result, the recovery rate is 96.80 percent.

Meghalaya reported 234 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours. This takes the active COVID tally to 2,075.

Moreover, four more COVID-19 related deaths were also reported from the state during the same time period, taking the death toll to 1,533. Meanwhile, 387 patients recovered from the illness in the last 24 hours.

Tripura, on the other hand, reported 90 fresh cases, pushing the state’s tally of active cases to 2,809. The positivity rate is currently at 1.99%. Besides, the state also reported eight new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 910 in the state. On the other hand, 798 patients recovered from the illness. The recovery rate presently stands at 96.29%.

Meanwhile, Manipur reported 322 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours; this takes the active covid tally to 3,943. Moreover, 3 patients succumbed to the illness and 337 patients recovered from the infection in the same time period.
