GUWAHATI: The Assam government has adopted ‘No electricity bill, no salary’ policy for the government employees in the state.
The drawing and disbursing officers (DDO) have been asked to ensure collection of ‘No dues payable against Electricity bill of APDCL certificate’ for all employees prior to processing of wages or salary bills on or before June 30.
“APDCL system generated payment receipt of current electricity bill may be considered as proof of payment for this purpose,” stated a notification issued by the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL).
