Guwahati: In a bizarre incident, a night-super bus — Shree Ram — bearing registration number AS-06BC-3477 suddenly caught fire at around 10:30 PM, Thursday. The incident happened on National Highway 37 near Khanapara area of Guwahati. Nobody was hurt in the accident.
The bus was plying from Guwahati to Tinsukia and had started its journey from Inter State Bus Terminal(ISBT), Guwahati.
According to a passenger, around 40 people were travelling in the bus and they were informed by the bus conductor about the fire and the bus was vacated before it was completely ravaged by fire.
The fire was brought under control in a short time. The cause of the fire was not known though police said that a short-circuit might have triggered the fire.
