GUWAHATI: News Live impact, the plight of a poor family is over. A poor family living in severe condition in Thekeraguri Village in Tingkhong under Kenduguri Gaon Panchayat has got a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 24 hours just after news coverage by News Live.
The story was aired on News Live on Sunday. Soon after the news was aired, the Panchayat President of the area took the responsibility of building a house for the family under the PM Awas Yojana.
“Our house was in severe condition. I feel very good that we will have a place to stay now. Earlier we used to drink water from well. Now we will have a tubewell. I am very thankful,”said Debaru Majhi, a family member.
“I thank News Live for bringing the issue to our notice. I didn’t know that the family is living in such a situation. I came to know after watching the story on News Live. Meanwhile, the construction work of the house and a tube well started,” said the Gaon Panchayat president Bobita Singh Bokolial.
