GUWAHATI: Hyundai is gearing up to launch a new base variant of the Hyundai i20 car. The car was spotted in a dealer yard and as per sources, Hyundai may soon launch the base variant of the car.
According to Team-BHP, an automotive news portal, the new variant is expected to be positioned below the Magna trim and could be called Magna Executive or Era. As of now, Magna is the entry-level variant of the i20. It comes equipped with 15-inch steel wheels, LED fog lamps, a 2-DIN audio system and steering mounted controls.
The third generation i20 was launched in India in November 2020. The car is available with three engine options – a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that makes 118 BHP and 172 Nm, a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol that puts out 82 BHP and 115 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel that makes 99 BHP and 240 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a clutchless Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT).
