GUWAHATI: The Assam government has made changes in the home quarantine rules for air passengers.
Addressing a press meet in Guwahati on Friday, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that currently there is a norm of 10 days home quarantine for air passengers arriving in the state.
“However, now they will go for both antigen and RT-PCR tests. If they need the RT-PCR results within 24 hours, they have to pay Rs. 2200. If result is negative, the person needs not to go for home quarantine. RT-PCR will also be done free of cost. But for that, the persons have to wait for at least 3 days. Till then, they should remain in the quarantine,” said Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
On the other hand, the recovered COVID-19 patients with ICMR certificate need not to go for tests after their arrival in Assam by flights or trains.
