Guwahati: As winters are here, everyone will be enjoying the outdoors by having outdoor picnics. Picnics bring together family, friends and neighbors and let everyone have a great time.
Keeping in view the picnic season, Assam government has issued guidelines for a decentralized and self-sustaining mode of Picnic management by forming the District Picnic Monitoring and Supervisory Committee (DPMSC).
As per the notice issued by the Assam Government:
- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of all the districts shall act as the chairman of the DPMSC.
- These committees will be initiated by the respective DCs,
- It will have members from the departments of Home, Forest, Health, Finance, Tourism, PWD along with the Urban Local Bodies, and Disaster Management Authorities to avoid accidents during picnics.
- The respective Committees for each district will issue the guidelines for the picnic parties.
- The picnic parties shall have to abide by the rules and regulations issued by the DPMSC.
- Disobedience of the guidelines shall lead to penalties.
