GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday extended greetings and heartfelt gratitude to all doctors and health workers on the occasion of National Doctors Day.
The Chief Minister Tweeted, “Doctors play great role in our physical and mental wellbeing. On #NationalDoctorsDay, I convey my deep gratitude to all health practitioners who sacrificed a lot to provide care to humanity. Let’s honour them with love, respect and dignity they deserve.”

Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta also extended greetings to the Doctors as health workers of the country. “#Doctors, the only ones blessed with magical powers to treat a life, our health and most importantly to bring back hopes to one’s life. On #NationalDoctorsDay, I salute all doctors for their exemplary bravado and for being the flag bearers of hope in these torrid times,” Tweeted Keshab Mahanta.

It is to be mentioned that the day is marked to honour the immense contribution that doctors make in our everyday lives. The date of July 1 was decided to mark the day as it is the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. Dr. Roy was not only a great doctor but was also the second Chief Minister of West Bengal.
