Guwahati: Robbery at Temple, Dargah and other holy shrines has become the latest crime trend in Guwahati with thieves attempting to break into different holy shrines every day.
In yet another incident on tueday night, thieves broke into Srimanta Shankardev Namghar,at Kalitapara at Sualkuchi and looted the donation boxes.
According to reports, the thief broke the lock of the main gate and looted three donation boxes with gold and silver ornament. It is to be mentioned that within a month 6 Nammghars in Sualkuchi have been looted by thieves.
“Yesterday night thieves broke into the Satra and looted three donation boxes and other gold and silver ornament. We would be grateful if the Police help us in solving the matter and give further protection to the Satras. In last one month 6 Nammghars are already looted, but still the police have not taken any serious action,” said a local resident.
