Guwahati: Two people have been detained by the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch on Saturday in connection with the hoax bomb scare in four locations of the city.
As per Mumbai Police’s statement, an unidentified caller threatened to bomb three railway stations and actor Amitabh Bachchan bungalow, which turned out to be a hoax call.
Last night, a person called the emergency helpline of Mumbai Police and said there were bombs kept at four different locations in Mumbai.
Mumbai Police, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS), immediately reached the spots and found that it was a hoax call.
The person had informed the police that bombs were kept at CST, Dadar, Byculla railway stations, and at Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachan’s bungalow.
A police officer said, “As the incident was extremely serious, the Mumbai Police went on alert. ATS, crime branch, and every police station started investigating the matter. After proper checks, it was found that it was a hoax call.”
Two persons have been detained in this regard and an inquiry is being conducted by the Mumbai Police crime branch.
A police officer said, “We have detained two people in the matter. We are questioning them regarding the case.”
