GUWAHATI: Some miscreants have shared an altered and morphed screenshot of Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma’s tweet regarding COVID-19 updates in the state. The morphed image claimed that 8 more persons tested COVID-19 positive in Assam. It also made false claim that the number of total COVID-19 patients in the state has increased to 70.
Clarifying the screenshot as fake, minister Dr. Sarma tweeted, “I have noted with deep concern an altered / morphed screenshot of my tweet – where the numbers have been changed. Asking @assampolice to immediately file an FIR and investigate @DGPAssamPolice.”
