MLA Angoorlata Deka takes part in community fishing

GUWAHATI: Batadrava MLA Angoorlata Deka took part in a community fishing on ‘Charipunia Bill’ in her constituency on the occasion of Magh Bihu Uruka on Wednesday.

Deka in the early morning joined the local people in community fishing as a part of Bhogali Bihu celebration. She was also seen singing and dancing enthusiastically. 

“I have joined the local people to observe the tradition of community fishing. I extend my heartfelt wishes to the people of Assam on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu,” the BJP legislator said.

Besides Batadrava, people took part in community fishing at various places as part of the Bhogali fervour and festivities.

The fish markets of the State also witnessed massive crowds as people thronged the markets to grab the best deal from wee hours.
