Minor girl murder case at Raha: Govt forms probe panel

GUWAHATI: Following massive public outrage, the Assam government on Monday formed a probe panel to investigate the alleged murder of a 12-year-old girl at Raha in Nagaon district.

The one-man enquiry committee, headed by central Assam division commissioner Moloy Bora has been instructed to submit the probe report within 30 days.

The minor girl who hailed from Karbi Anglong district was found dead in the house of one Prakash Borthakur where she was working as a domestic help.

Meanwhile, representatives of 11 different organisations visited the victim’s family in Karbi Anglong on Tuesday.

“The Karbi community demands punishment for the culprits,” said a member of a Karbi organisation.
