Guwahati: The Indian hockey team beat arch-rivals Pakistan 3-1 in its third match of the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2021 held in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Friday (December 17).
For India, Harmanpreet Singh and Akashdeep Singh were the goal-scorers.
Harmanpreet and Akashdeep gave India a 2-0 lead over their opponents after which Junaid Manzoor scored the first goal for Pakistan.
Harmanpreet then scored the third goal for India despite Pakistan trying their best to put pressure on India in the last comeback, the scoreline read 3-1 in India’s favour when the final whistle was blown.
India now top the table with seven points in three games.
India had earlier drawn 2-2 with South Korea and beaten Bangladesh 9-0.
