Meghalaya’s first COVID19 patient dies

GUWAHATI: The first COVID19 patient of Northeastern state Meghalaya passed away on Wednesday. The patient, 1 69-year old doctor passed away at 2.45 AM. The senior doctor from Bethany Hospital in Shillong had tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

Taking to Twitter, Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma wrote, “I am deeply saddened to inform that the first #COVID19 positive patient in Meghalaya passed away this morning at 2:45 am. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”
