GUWAHATI: He sells vegetables on the footpath of Jorhat town to make his ends meet. Though this vegetable vendor named Lakshmiram Duarah Das earns a meagre amount from selling vegetables, he spends a major part of his earnings in buying books. Lakshmiram is not only a book worm, but also a writer. He has already penned down fifteen religious books.
“I run my family from half of my earnings. Rest I spend in collecting books. I have collected more than two hundred books. I read the books every night,” said vendor-turned writer Lakshmiram.
“I have already written fifteen books. Four other books are going to be published soon,” he said.
The books of Lakshmiram Duarah Das are mainly based on religious themes. Besides selling vegetables, he keeps all of his published books at his stall.
