GUWAHATI: The Panchayat and Rural Development Department (P&RD) in Assam will soon start a recruitment drive to fill up 2,654 vacant posts in the department, said minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Monday.
Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Dass said the appointments will be done as part of Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma’s announcement to create 1 lakh government jobs.
“There are 1,004 third grade regular posts, 1300 contractual and 350 contractual posts. Altogether 2,654 people will get jobs,” the minister said.
It may be noted that Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced 1 lakh youths of the state will get government employment in the first year of the BJP-led government.
The P&RD Dept. have taken various initiatives to combat #COVID19 through Jan Andolan & benefit the people in rural areas of Assam.
