GUWAHATI: A massive fire broke out at a house in Lahorighat’s Dakkhin Senimari(Morigaon) area on Wednesday evening.
According to reports, the fire reduced five houses to ashes, and properties worth rupees several lakh have been damaged in the inferno.
“The fire broke out in a residence and burnt at least 5 houses in the premises. An Electrical short-circuit must have caused the fire,” said a local resident.
“No casualty has been reported. Property worth Rs. 10-12 lakhs was damaged and nobody was injured. I request the Assam Government to set up a fire office in Lahorighat,” said another person.
