Massive arrangements at Guwahati Railway Station to receive passengers from Delhi

GUWAHATI: Elaborate arrangements have been made at Guwahati Railway Station to receive the passengers of Dibrugarh bound special train from Delhi amid COVID-19 pandemic. The train which departed from Delhi on Tuesday is expected to reach Guwahati at around 8.30 PM.

Assam additional director general of police (ADGP) for law and order GP Singh and Kamrup (Metro) deputy commissioner (DC) Biswajit Pegu have been constantly monitoring the preparedness at Guwahati Railway Station to receive the passengers who will get down at the station. The entire station has been sanitised as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 outbreak.

The administration will bring the passengers to screening and quarantine facilities by the government buses. No one will be allowed to travel by any private vehicle. Earlier ADGP GP Singh requested everyone not to come to receive any passenger with private vehicle.

There are five stoppages of the special train in Assam. The respective district administration will take away the passengers to their home district and arrange screening and quarantine. The train will reach its final destination Dibrugarh on Thursday morning.

Elaborate arrangements and precautionary measures have been made at Dibrugarh Railway Station. Some passengers from Arunachal Pradesh are also travelling in the special train.
