Guwahati: In a strange incident, a man tied his wife’s petticoat on his face in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, to escape a challan on Sunday.
According to a India Today report, the man did this amid tight vigil in MP as the state has been witnessing a rise in coronavirus cases and has directed people to adhere to lockdown guidelines such as wearing face masks.
The MP government had earlier announced a complete lockdown on Sundays to break the chain of rapidly increasing coronavirus cases in the state.
The incident took place in Bandakpur of Damoh district when the cops were interrogating people who were out on roads during the lockdown on Sunday.
The police were also fining those who were not wearing face masks.
The man, on his bike, passed through the area and saw the policemen issuing challans to people who were out without wearing a mask.
In order to save himself, the man stopped his bike and took out his wife’s petticoat from his bag and tied it on his face.
