GUWAHATI: The ferry services between Majuli and Jorhat have been resumed from Monday.
The Majuli district administration has set a number of guidelines which are to be followed during the movement.Only 50 percent passengers will be allowed to travel by the ferries. Services in all parghats in Majuli will be resumed.
“From today onwards the ferry services have started. Only 50 per cent of the total passenger intake capacity of a ferry will be allowed so that social distancing can be maintained”, said an official.
“We will travel to Golaghat. We were stuck here since last 1 month. After getting the information about the resumption of ferry services, we came here today”, said a passenger at the Kamalabari Ferry Ghat.
“We expect that everyone will follow the rules and regulations issued by government to contain the deadly Coronavirus”, said another passenger.
