GUWAHATI, Oct 20: A loud explosion rocked Delhi’s Rohini locality today morning. The blast took place near the CRPF school and partially damaged the school’s wall, windows of nearby shops and a few cars. No injuries, however, have been reported, Delhi Police said.

A team of local police, crime branch and the Delhi Police’s special cell arrived at the school to conduct inspection. Senior police officers said no foul play has been found yet, Hindustan Times reported.

“I was on the terrace when I heard a high-intensity blast. The whole house shook. I had never seen such smoke ever before. I thought it might be a gas cylinder blast as there are eateries in that area… The CRPF commandoes were vigilant and they had already reached the spot… The glass of the nearby buildings and cars had shattered… Fortunately, it was not a working day and the timing of the blast was also such that no one was there….,” news agency ANI quoted Gaurav, an eyewitness of the blast, as saying.

“We received a call regarding a blast near the boundary wall of CRPF school at 7.50am. We immediately rushed two fire engines to the spot. There was no fire and no one was injured due to the blast. So, our vehicle returned,” an officer of Delhi Fire Service was quoted as saying.
