Local man killed by wild elephant near Bhima Shankar Temple

GUWAHATI: In yet another incident of man-elephant conflict in Guwahati, a person had to lose his life in Guwahati. A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant near Pamohi area. The person identified as Jama was attacked by the tusker near the Bhima Shankar Temple.

The incident has angered the local residents of Pamohi area. They are unhappy at the forest department’s negligence. The residents have been long demanding a solution to the elephant problem in their area. As the area is near Deepor Beel and the Rani Forest Division it also serves as an animal corridor for the elephants that come out in the open in search of food.
