Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday unveiled a life-size statue of Virangana Sati Sadhini at Sati Sadhini Kalakshetra in Golaghat.
Taking to his Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Honoured to have unveiled a life-size statue of Virangana Sati Sadhini at Sati Sadhini Kalakshetra in Golaghat. The statue, designed by eminent sculptor Ranjit Bora, is a fine manifestation of courage, patriotism & sacrifice of Virangana Sati Sadhini Compliment to the artist”.

Sati Sadhani was the last queen of the Chutia dynasty. She was the daughter of the Chutia King Dharmadhwajpal also known as Dhirnarayan. Born in Sadiya, she was married to Nityapal or Nitai.
It is to be mentioned that every year in Assam, 21 April is celebrated as Sati Sadhani Divas to honor the sacrifices made by the Chutia Queen.
