Last day of Doul Utsav in Barpeta

GUWAHATI: The last day of Doul Utsav is being celebrated with religious fervor at Barpeta every year.

People in large numbers have gathered at the Barpeta Satra to witness the last day of the traditional celebration.

The crowd is enjoying and celebrating the day by singing Holi-geets.

During this festival, the people of Barpeta including people from across Assam celebrate this festival with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm. It is indeed a grand affair for the people of Assam. Doul festival is a great source of happiness among the people of Barpeta.

Doul Utsav is one of the famous festivals celebrated by the people of Assam. Doul Utsav is also known as ‘Holi’ or ‘Fakua’.

Doul Utsav with a wide range of programs has also been organized at different places in Assam including Batadrava, North Guwahati and Raghunath Bigrah Mandir in Bongaigaon.
