Kohora: Three dead after car hits tree; driver critical

GUWAHATI: Three people died in a road accident in the Kohra area under Haldibari Police Outpost, Kaziranga in Assam after their car hit a tree. The driver and three passengers were traveling in the car when it met with the accident.

According to reports, the Maruti Alto(AS-01EA-4672) car was going towards Golaghat from the Nalbari side and the driver lost control and the accident took place at around 04:30 AM on Friday.

The three deceased have been identified as Kanak Sen Das and Phulen Barman from Nalbari and Biren Singhar from Karbi Anglong. The driver of the vehicle who was seriously injured in the accident was rushed to the Swahid Kamala Miri Civil Hospital was later sent to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) for further treatment.

“The accident took place at around 04:30 AM. Local people called 108 ambulance and rushed the four people to Swahid Kamala Miri Civil Hospital. Biren Singher was declared dead when they reached the hospital and the other two passengers from Nalbari died after some time. The driver of the vehicle who is from Belsor, Nalbari is in critical condition and he has been taken to GMCH for further treatment. Police investigations are underway, said a Police Officer”
