Guwahati: Former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi arrived in Guwahati on Wednesday. He along with his wife and son arrived at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport yesterday at around 05:O0 PM. From LGBI the family directly departed to his house located in Gitanagar area of Guwahati.
Justice Ranjan Gogoi retired as CJI on November 17 this year. During his tenure as a CJI, he took many tough decisions. Justice Gogoi will be remembered for his judgement on the Ayodhya Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute case.
Gogoi was appointed as Chief Justice of India on 3 October 2018, succeeding CJI Dipak Misra.
Justice Ranjan Gogoi along with his family plans to settle down at his house in Gitanagar, Guwahati.
