GUWAHATI: In the view of rising COVID-19 cases in Assam, the hospital of Nagaon Paper Mill at Jagiroad under Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPCL) has been converted into a fully functional unit for COVID-19. Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the COVID-19 facility on Sunday.
Minister Sarma stated that it will be converted into a 50-bedded hospital after the COVID-19 situation is over.
Earlier Dr.Sarma also visited Morigaon Civil Hospital where a 23-bedded COVID-19 unit has been kept ready. He was accompanied by minister of state for health and family welfare Pijush Hazarika and MLA Ramakanta Deori.
