Indian Railways to run 3 trains in Assam from June 1

GUWAHATI: As a part of restoration of service of 200 trains across the country, Indian Railways will run three trains in Assam from June 1. Talking to News Live, Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) public relations officer (PRO) Nripen Bhattacharyya said that total five trains will resume services from June 1 under NF Railway. Among these, Delhi-Dibrugarh Brahmputra Mail, Guwahati-Lokmanya Tilak Express and Guwahati-Jorhat Town Jan Shatabdi Express will run in Assam.

The trains will have AC, Non-AC and general coaches with reserve seats.

“Brahmaputra Mail between Delhi and Dibrugarh will run daily. Guwahati-Lokmanya Tilak between Guwahati and Mumbai will run twice a week. On the other hand, Jan Shatabdi Express between Jorhat and Guwahati will run regularly except Sundays,” said Bhattacharyya.

The booking for these three tickets has started from 10 AM on Thursday through the IRCTC website or mobile application only..

He informed that only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway stations or board the trains. The passengers will have to arrive at the stations before one and half hour. Wearing of masks and using sanitizers have been made mandatory during the course of the journey.
