‘India needs a change’ says Javed Akhtar after meeting Mamata Banerjee in Delhi

New Delhi: Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar said on that there should be a change in the country given the tensions and issue of polarisation. Akhtar and actor Shabana Azmi met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is on a visit to the capital.

Earlier, the Mamata Banerjee met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and then Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.

Akhtar said that the West Bengal CM should lead to bring a change in India. “In our short conversation, she never said that leadership is her priority. She wants a parivartan. Earlier, she fought for Bengal and now she wants to fight to bring a change in India.”

Akhtar said that Bengal has led many revolutionary movements and Mamata Banerjee also has the support of intellectuals and artists from the state to bring the change.
