IND-Sri Lanka T20 cricket match: City Police issues traffic advisory

Guwahati: Elaborate traffic arrangements have been made for parking of vehicles, traffic circulation and pedestrian movement in and around the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, officially known as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium here for the upcoming T20 International Cricket match between India and Sri Lanka on 5th January 2020.

A traffic advisory on Friday from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Guwahati, said that the spectators and the general public can reach the stadium through the following routes:

  1. Via AK Azad Road from Paltanbazar and Ulubari towards the Cricket stadium
  2. Via AK Deb Road from Gorchuk Charialion on NH37 towards the Cricket stadium
  3. Via AK Deb Road from Bharalumukh towards the Cricket stadium
  4. Via AK Azad Road from Lokhra.

 Spectators coming via AK Deb Road to the stadium can park their vehicles in Datalpara field, Champawati field, Ganeshpara field, Rangpathar field, and GMC field.  Parking of vehicles will be allowed on the one side parallel parking road on AK Dev Road from Dhirenpara Tiniali to Ganeshpara field.

Vehicle taking the route via AK Azad road can park their vehicles in Arya College field, Birubari ITI field, Lutuma field, Saukuchi Budhboriya Bazar and Pandukan field. One-sided parallel parking is allowed from Lalganesh point to Saukuchi and between Cycle Factory point to Barsapara point.

All types of Commercial vehicles will be restricted on AK Deb Road and AK Azad Road from 8 A.M on Sunday till the match is over. Vehicles having car passes will be allowed on the one way road from Barsapara road or Barsapara Tiniali (AK Azad Road) to Dhirenpara Tinial(AK Deb Road). It may be noted that there will be a complete no entry of commercial vehicles from Lalganesh to Barasapar. Only labeled vehicles or vehicles having passes will be allowed on following route.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, (Traffic) Ranjan Bhuyan informed that Barsapara road from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali and AK Azad Road from Lalganesh point to Barsapara Tiniali have been declared as ‘No Parking Zone’.
