GUWAHATI: Launching an attack on the previous governments, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Centre and the Assam government are working collaboratively to develop state infrastructure. Despite the state having great potential, former governments gave it ‘Sautela’ treatment by overlooking development in various sectors. Works such as completion of Bogibeel Bridge and broad gauge railway line in North Bank has been done by our government.” PM Modi addressed a public gathering at Silapathar in Dhemaji on Monday.

Inaugurating the Dhemaji Engineering College, PM Modi said that it is the first engineering college in the north bank (of the Brahmaputra valley) in Assam.

“Today, the whole world is recognizing India’s engineers. The youth of Assam has amazing potential. The state government is working hard to increase this capacity. Due to the efforts of the Assam government, today there are more than 20 engineering colleges here,” added PM Modi.

Narendra Modi said that the BJP government works with the motto of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and it has led to the rapid development of Assam.
